Pediatric Pulmonology

Pediatric Pulmonology is a medical specialty that deals primarily with the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic breathing problems in children. A pediatric pulmonologist performs examinations of the patients' respiratory and cardiac systems. To aid in diagnosis, pulmonologists utilize tests of pulmonary function, lab work, chest x-rays and special procedures to view the airway. They work with other specialties such as cardiology, ENT, neurology, and allergy.
