01/25/10 - Minnesota Community Measurement 2009 Quality Report
In November 2009 Minnesota Community Measurement issued its sixth annual Health Care Quality Report. MN Community Measurement is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of health care in Minnesota by publicly reporting quality results. Founded by Minnesota's health plans and the Minnesota Medical Association, MN Community Measurement is a collaborative that works with health plans, clinics, employers and consumers to spur quality improvement, reduce health care costs and maximize value.
We are pleased to report the following MN Community Measurement results for ACMC clinics. Congratulations to all of the ACMC team members who played an important role in helping to accomplish these quality results for our patients. (The 2009 Quality Report represents 2008 patient care services data.)
- Asthma Care - For ACMC patients, 5-56 years, 95% were appropriately medicated to better manage their chronic condition. ACMC providers ranked #7 of all the Minnesota medical groups reporting.
- Optimal Diabetes Care - ACMC-Granite Falls and ACMC-New London/Spicer clinics once again exceeded the state goal for optimal diabetes care in meeting all five measurements. More than 30% of their patients with diabetes had controlled blood pressure, were not using tobacco, took a daily aspirin as prescribed, and had the A1c test less than seven and the LDL-Cholesterol less than 100. As a medical group, of all clinic sites, ACMC ranked 12th of the 67 Minnesota medical groups reporting.
- Children's Immunizations - With the important partnership of Minnesota Immunization Information Connection (MIIC), ACMC was recognized as having 88% of its patients fully immunized at age 24 months. The ACMC medical group was ranked #5 in Minnesota.
- Optimal Vascular Care - Congratulations to ACMC-Willmar and ACMC-Marshall for exceeding the statewide clinic average for delivering optimal patient care to adults with cardiovascular disease. As a medical group, ACMC attained the statewide average for patients who had controlled blood pressure, did not use tobacco, had an LDL-Cholesterol test measuring less than 100 and took daily aspirin as prescribed.
- Cancer Screening Combined - Women who are between 51 and 80 years need three cancer screenings - breast, cervical and colorectal. ACMC providers were ranked #8 in MN for providing these important tests for early detection of cancer in their female patients.
