Cardioversion
Cardioversion is a procedure performed on a patient whose heart is beating in an abnormal rhythm (irregular heart beat) that should be returned to normal, thus improving the flow of blood to the body. Cardioversion involves the delivery of an electrical impulse to the heart and is supervised by a doctor. The patient will be sedated for this procedure.
