Litchfield offers a number of community attractions. GAR Hall, built in 1885 by Civil War Union soldiers, is on the east side of the large central park in the downtown area. A majestic 18-hole golf course is a popular summer attraction, while outdoor enthusiasts enjoy hundreds of miles of beautiful trails for cycling, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. Litchfield also has a municipal airport and civic arena that hosts year round activities such as tennis and ice hockey.

ACMC-Litchfield has two clinics which staff 13 multispecialty physicians and mid-level providers in the areas of family medicine, internal medicine, and general surgery. The Meeker Memorial Hospital, a 38-bed facility, provides a full range of primary and emergency care services, as well as many support programs.
